Spring Supper Club
The Supper Clubs
Let us take you on a journey..........
Based at our HQ in North London, Walrus & Otter supper clubs are experiential dining events designed to bring more to the table than just delicious food. We want to feed your imagination as well as your appetite. You, and up to 15 other guests, will have your senses stimulated and tastebuds titilated as we guide you through an evening of delicious and unusual food. Each event will have a theme and everything from the cocktails to the decor, and of course the food, will enrich your experience and create an unforgettable evening. Come by yourself or with a group of friends, Walrus & Otter Supper Clubs are all about fun, food and adventure. Take a look at some of our previous events...
This has to be one of our favourites! For our Spring 2014 Supper Club we decided to go veggie (the picture of the cute little lamb we used on the flyer was tugging at our heart strings!). Creating an allotment for a dining table was awesome, and having to water and trim your table cloth was definitely a new experience. Guests were invited to ‘forage’ for their starters - radishes filled with scented goats cheese on olive soil, baby artichokes, new season asparagus and hollandaise, green gazpacho shots. Main course was a delicious Spring risotto with burnt leeks, poached duck egg, truffle oil and parmesan crisp, and dessert was light and yummy champagne, mint and elderflower cheesecake with rhubarb, strawberry and herb sorbet. Mmmmmmm Spring definitely sprung that night!
Barry's and Brunch
Sunday 13th March, Finsbury Circus, Old Street
The World Cup was in Brazil and everyone was in a party mood, so that was all it took for us to get our carnival hats on and create a slice of Rio in sunny Hampstead! Tropical flavours, rum cocktails, traditional dishes and rumba rhythms took us through the night. Ceviche has to be one of my our favourite things to eat and our guests seemed to agree as all the shells came back to the kitchen empty. Traditional bobo Chicken stew was next up in the banana leaf bowls Ollie and been painstakingly making for the last two days - they looked great! Last on the menu was a Brazilian twist on an Italian desert - Coconut panacotta! Served in half a coconut with grilled pineapple, mint and chilli salsa, coconut snow and a coconut tuile - Aye meu Deus!
We love rugby, we love food - this one was a no brainer really! Cocktails in beer bottles, patriotic canapés and two countries doing battle for each course, what’s not to love!
Round 1: Scotland V Italy - Stornaway black pudding tortelloni, with girolles mushrooms, whisky cream sauce, parmesan shavings and rucola.
Round 2: England V Ireland - British beef and Guinness Pie with colcannon mash and peas and carrots - served in a kebab box! Sounds simple, tastes delicious.
Round 3: France V Wales - Normandy apple tart with Caerphilly cheese and herb ice cream.
